Garden Plan Pro App Reviews

This app looked amazing and helpful.... But it is extremely hard to use and once you get going, it shuts down. Hoping its a temporary glitch. For a paid app, over $1.99 I would expect a lot more quality

I love this app! We have 4 12x4 raised beds and this app helped me keep it organized and be able to add notes. Even though I will continue use the app, there are a few enhancements that I would recommend the sooner they make the better - the stronger reviews will follow: 1) it is so SLOW moving plants around, making the screen size bigger/smaller. Over all very slow! Thank goodness I have patience. 2) The ability to make notes about specific plants with in the garden. I would love to be able to click on the plant in my garden and make my necessary notes. 3) The ability to take pictures and add those to the notes. Fix those and this app will be fantiastc!

Update -- ipad app is a mess since the most recent update. Plants cant be moved, takes forever to open and load, crashes. The iPhone version only synchs one of my older plans, so I have no idea if its working. Customer service was initially responding quickly with assurances that problems were being worked on and that another update would be out soon. But now Ive gone two weeks with no further responses from them and no sign of an update. Have been using this app for a couple of years and it was great for planning my annual vegetable garden. Since the last update it has become increasingly unstable, continuously crashes and unexpectedly closes. Moving plants is a challenge as they sometimes "jump" to different locations, appear and then disappear, and are often difficult to delete. Hopefully the developers have not given up on it and have been working on an update, otherwise Ill be looking for a new app to plan my 2014 garden.

This is my second season with the app, and I have found it very useful. The update improved many things. However, I’m finding it difficult and in some cases impossible to select and move plants. I end up panning the page or it does nothing, to the point where it seems the app has crashed. A restart of the iPad and/or app doesn’t help. Very frustrated! It would have been nice to have had the app updated before people were in the throes of planning for the season. UPDATE: Much improved after update 2.0.1. Moving things around is much easier. Upping 2 stars to 4. UPDATE 2 because I spoke too soon. Trying to lengthen or widen a row is now impossible. It goes berserk and does nothing but flash.

This app is pretty good, has tons of veggies and information for planting and harvesting. My frustration is its NON ease of use. It is hard to get going, the plants are not text labeled and very time I go from my plan to the home page, it crashes and I have to restart. On a good track, but needs work!

Plant wont load I am trying to do my ranch 168x145 metter and the ..... Not gooood dont buy it

Plant database its not for pro, try to find an spaguetti squash just to see there are only ( summer squash and winter squash ) what a joke

Its an ok app but not worth the 7.99 price tag. Lots of good info but nothing you couldnt google just as easily. The garden planner part is difficult and would be better if you could zoom out to see the entire bed/input cardinal direction and get info about the amount of sun on your bed. For eight bucks I expected a lot more than what I could read off of the seed packs.

I do love this app, very useful. My only problem with it is the fact that once in a while the measurements on my boxes stop working and just display as, for example 511 x 00. Or 00 x 00. I only plant in raised beds so it gets really, really annoying.

Not only can I not get this app to reliably or efficiently do what I was led to believe it would do, I cant get it to perform any function even remotely useful to me. I was really excited about it but it has been a huge disappointment.

Draw tools do not function Text box works but cannot erase. Waste of time

The basic premise of this app is good but it functions horribly. I have had this app for two years and hoping it will get better but only gets worse. It either functions very very slowly or it crashes. . . total waste of time!

Not worth the 7.99 I paid for this program.. Buggy and needs improvement.. Should have just used pencil and paper..

I was a bit hesitant to purchase this app because of the negative reviews, but its great! Ive used the Grow Veg planner on my desktop for a few years and am so happy the same great planner is available for my iPad! Give this a try if youre looking for a good planner. Im very happy with it. And if youve been using Grow Veg on your desktop it will sink your accounts.

I downloaded this app a year ago, and love it. We finally got around to build our garden beds, and this app has helped me visualize what I want. I cant wait until next growing season to see how it helps me rotate the garden. Im not sure why others have had problems. It has never glitched on me.

I love the premise, of this app. Im using it to pre-plan my gardens. The app wont let me delete any gardens. The delete button pops up, but, doesnt delete the work.

Seems to be a good app. UI is easy enough to use and support for square foot gardening is nice. However once a garden is created it can not be deleted. I contacted support about the issue and they replied very promptly saying they were aware of the issue and would have a fix out in 10 days.... That was months ago.

I have never had an app this horrible I actually had to write a review. It is very hard to use. Does not have a wide variety of plants to put in your planned garden. Placing text to name things is also very difficult. This app needs a lot of help. Going back to paper and pencil.

This is a great idea, love how it works (when it works). I have had this app for 2wks and it has work the first day only. I ended up just drawing up everything by hand. I would love for the kinks to be worked out because the premiss is great but the application is poor.
