Garden Plan Pro App Reviews

For being a highly rated app on gardening review sites, I expected to at least be able to create an account... Very disappointing. Cant believe for $11 I cant even create a login.

You have to hit button 74 time to put in a hundred foot bed times 180 beds. Each plant entered one at a time. Give me my money back.

An expensive app that has many bugs and doesnt do much. Very dissapointing. Gives some limited info on various species such as small and large tomato (???), but too broad to ve really useful. Cheaper and more useful options around...

As said by many users this app has its advantages. Not only planning but being able to make changes while out in the garden. The designer is quick to reply with updates and fixes. The update fixed the creating an account issue. But caused a problem also. The drag to put multiple of the same plant has stopped working for plants added after the update. The ones that are there from before still function correctly. Thank you.

I want to like this app, but it is just too hard to use on the iPad. The web version is much more robust and easier to use on a laptop. I have never had another app that has crashed as often as this. Tech support was very responsive in providing workarounds. But if this app had gone through a proper development QA process, it would never have been released with so many easy to reproduce critical bugs. Wait for a few more revisions or use the web based version.

I took a chance on this app despite the poor reviews, hoping the issues had been addressed in the new version. Sadly, Ive found the interface to be clunky and unpolished and feel sure that the amount of time I spend trying to tweak the layout on the app equals or exceeds any time saved through the apps plant spacing/placement features. My last straw was being unable to choose which layout features came to the front layer in the plan.

I am a long time gardener and this app does everything I wanted it to do. I am currently designing a 40 by 100 garden. It lets me make beds of all shapes, add custom varieties, change planting times based on my experience and track it all. I can change everything around until I like it. The app requires bit of time to learn. But for a design app of any kind, the learning curve is modest. Think some of the other reviewers must not have any experience with graphics programs or did not take the tutorial. It is a great value at many times its modest price.

I bought this app 2 years ago for my ipad 2 and it never worked. Whenever I try to select the variety of plant it crashes. I have reinstalled the app and installed the new update but the problem persists. I went through troubleshooting when I first bought it, but gave up when nothing solved my issue. I decided to give it another chance as we get to another growing season and wanted to write a review to warn others about this app. I requested a refund but gave up after a week of emails recommending that I restart and reinstall.

I took a leap of faith when purchasing this. (I wish there had been a trial version.) The only other review wasnt good but my bestie uses the desktop version for her garden each year and she just adores it! So far, this has been exactly what I expected. Theres a bit of a learning curve but thats to be expected. It would be nice if the program would let you split up the plants in your 1 square for square foot gardening method and if there were a shopping list for plants and seeds that you could export to email or grocery iq or paprika or even a dedicated iPhone app. But, overall, its easy and fairly intuitive to use and it does what I need it to do. I love it.

Complete waste of money. Its simply impossible to add raised beds, plants or any object. Impossible to resize anything or move anything. Crashes every step of the way. Draw a line, crash. Draw a rectangle, crash. Add a plant, crash. Apps like this make you want to throw your whole iPad away.

I use this app for all my veg garden planning, tracking, etc. It just keeps getting better and more useful. Coupled with the online tools its super. Anxiously waiting for the iPhone app to be released.

This is exceptionally hard to do on an iPad. I assumed it would be easy, but I dont like the configuration. I think the idea is there, but they have a long way to go before its really worth the time and money!

The app crashes often when selecting the variety of an item. The only way around this is to go back to the plan after selecting a generic plant, then return to select a variety again. At that point no varieties of the plant will be listed. You will have to create your own. At that point you will be able to place the plants. I would pay more for a stable version of this app. As it stands it feels like a beta version. I do like the ability to order seeds that have been drawn in. This app has so much potential, its disheartening to see this wasted.

I really like the Garden plan. I dont think it is too difficult. I like using the App and PC both. I would like to add my own pictures into the notes sections. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

this is the absolute best garden planning app Ive come across. Ive had it for 3 years now and the updates keep getting better and better. it takes a little time to get used to using everything but its so worth it. Love the crop rotation update! If you have any questions or issues, their customer service is the best I have ever had to deal with. Dan is awesome! you will not go wrong with this app, worth every dime and then some!

Like the previous review, it seems impossible to select and move plants. Very frustrating. Even more frustrating is the fact that if I want to remove a plant from the plan and add it in another place, the plant will be deleted from my plant list. I have to go to the database, search for it, and add it to my list again. The plant will even be removed from my favorites. WHY?? If the plant is on my favorites list it should remain available for me to add to my garden plan. I am tired of searching for the same plants only to have them removed from list a few minutes later.

I wish I had not purchased this app. Too difficult to move lines, square and the like. It also did not give any warnings that you planted veggies on top of veggies. The user interface is not intuitive at all. There is a lot of work to be done on this app before it is useful.

Ive only spent a little time with this app, but it keeps prompting me to do things and then doesnt let me do what it suggests. Example: creating an account it gives me the option to enter my address manually. I think. I click on the underlined link and it doesnt take me anywhere. Several things like that.

This had great potential. The idea of it is great. But its so buggy that I dont even want to waste my time on it anymore. I would save time if I draw everything out by hand. Honestly, its so not worth the money and its not cheap, in comparison to most other apps. I mean, really? Half the time, its hard to select a plant or even the layout drawings. Its easy to screw up the drawings--when you pick up your finger, it skews the whole thing. Then sometimes I come back to the program and find my plan all messed up. the layout is littered with old deletes or things are moved around... Im not even going to bother to mention the suggestions of features to make it better. Those things arent even important, compared to just having a working app!

This app is very disappointing. It keeps freezing up on me. When it wasnt frozen, I tried to move my containers and cant get the dimensions to show both width and length. It also will not let me re-position my text box...as well as the font is so large it takes up a lot of the space and cannot fit inside each of my containers, so its difficult to label the different containers. I tried restarting the app, and when I reopened it, many of the containers and text boxes I deleted somehow reappeared, so its just a mess to try to clean up and is taking too much time. Its a nice idea, but for now, its easier for me to just draw my containers in an excel document and label everything on it.
